Heidi and I have been living in San Fran for more than three years now and completely love it, but we don't look around often enough. For instance, I still haven't been to Yosemite!

Well, I just discovered Skyline Boulevard and it is magnificent. Although it starts in Daly City, the real spectacular part starts at Route 92 and runs South till you hit route 17 coming out of Santa Cruz (although I only went as far as Saratoga).

To the east, you're overlooking the bay, San Fran, San Jose, Oakland and the whole Peninsula. To the west, you're overlooking green rolling hills and the Pacific Coast. The road itself winds through giant redwood forrests, mountain medows, and lots of parks and preserves.

If one wanted to take a special someone for a romantic picnic, you'd be hard pressed to find a more special place.
